Upriver Kalimantan

I am itching to go upriver in Kalimantan again, it was such an amazing experience. We stopped at water warung on the way up, went to longhouses and eventually to my friend's base camp where we spent a week hiking in the jungle, gazing into central Kalimantan's deep rainforest-that was a few years ago now. Is there anyhting left? Have they cut it all down? I want to go back there and go up the Kahayan River from Palangkaraya into Borneo's heart. I'll bring my boys and we'll feast on river fish and jungle durian, listen to the gibbons whooping in the trees and keep a sharp eye out for the Rajawing Butterfly.....look out for the insects, bigger and stranger than anywhere I've ever been. There were enormous flies that screeched if you caught them!!! Upriver is a trip you'll never forget.
