My top tips - local ideas, insider tips, special things to see and do
Two weeks in Uganda is not really enough - take three and you can take a safari to see the main Parks and Scenic areas - plus spend a few days at Uganda Lodge - cheap but comfortable - and while there be shown around to meet local families, help in the schools, or in the workshop with teaching English, crafts or computers - hire our land-rover and be sure that all profits from the trip will go straight into benefiting the local community of Ruhanga
Other activities around this area include Hill walking, Hot Springs, Country Markets, Lakes - and its not too far from Game Parks and the fabulous Mountain Gorillas

What is it about this place that makes it special
The village people, the beautiful children - they all have so little but what little they do have they will always try to share.
They are mainly subsistence farmers, many are orphans and widows, who work so hard to grow a few crops and get enough money together to educate their children so they may have a better life.
The scenery in this area is fantastic - just at the beginning of the mountains - hill walking abounds and you keep being invited into all the little homes - mud floors - grass roofs or maybe rusting iron sheets, no loos, outside kitchens and open fire coking.
