1. YOUR USE OF THE COMMUNITY

You are permitted to use this community and its services for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

Age

If you are under the age of 18 years you should seek your parent’s or guardian’s permission before accessing our community.

You must be over 13 years of age to register with Iknowagreatplace.com. We advise parents and guardians who permit their children to use Iknowagreatplace.com that it is important that they communicate with their children about their safety online. Multiple Accounts and User Names

If you use multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting a community or annoying other users we may take action against all of your accounts.

Valid E-Mail Addresses

All accounts must be registered with a valid personal email address that you access regularly so that moderation emails can be sent to you. Accounts registered with someone else's email address or with temporary email addresses may be closed without notice. We may require users to re-validate their account if we believe they have been using an invalid email address.

E-Mail Accounts

We provide the community members with a private email as part of their account. This allows travellers to connect privately, develop friendships, exchange information and continue conversations more discreetly. These Terms also apply to all emails

Rules on Content

Our rules on content apply to each part of a contribution as well as to its whole. These standards must be complied with in spirit as well as to the letter. We will determine, in our absolute discretion, whether a contribution breaches these standards.

Posted content must:

  • be genuinely held (where it states opinions)
  • comply with the law applicable to England and Wales and in any country from which it is posted
  • be relevant
Posted content must not:

  • contain swear words or other language likely to offend
  • breach any intellectual property rights law or discuss how to commit or assist any unlawful or criminal activity
  • breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence
  • be in contempt of court
  • give the impression that the contribution emanates from responsibletravel.com Limited if this is not the case
  • contain a statement which you know or believe, or have reasonable grounds for believing, that members of the public to whom the statement is, or is to be, published are likely to understand as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism
  • post material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act
Rules on User Names

Do not create a user name (Nickname) that:

  • contains racist, sexist or homophobic words
  • contains defamatory statements or personal attacks on others
  • is made under another person's name or impersonating another person
  • contains commercial advertising
  • contains swear words or other language likely to offend.
These criteria also apply to content contained in your user profile.

Use the Right Forum
Make sure you use the right forum so you get the best response to your posts and to make it easier for those looking for information. We may move or delete postings to the wrong place.

Relying on Information Given
If you're relying on information or opinions from answers given, remember you do so at your own risk. Use common sense and make your own inquiries first. Be aware that answers only represent the opinions and experience of users, not ours. We assume no responsibility for any of the content posted by members.

Copying and Transmitting Content
If you want to copy, amend or re-transmit others' content, you need permission. Permission can be obtained from the user or from us. If you want to share postings with a friend please send them a hyperlink. Third party sites are not permitted to provide digests or summaries of posts, even through hyperlinks, without our prior written permission.

2. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

By registering with us, using our services, or emailing us, you will be supplying us with "personal information". We collect this to administer and help you use the services, contact you about content you have contributed, and keep in touch with you in general.

If you choose to leave the community and/or delete your member account with Iknowagreatplace.com we retain the right to your postings and contributions under the license described above.

4. BREACH OF THESE TERMS

When we consider that a breach of these Terms has occurred, we may at our discretion take such action as we deem appropriate. Failure to comply with these Terms constitutes a material breach of the terms of use on which you are permitted to use Iknowagreatplace.com, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:

5. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

If you think a posting is infringing these Terms or anyone's legal rights, let us know immediately. We will investigate all complaints and take action if we think it's necessary, including removing content and/or banning the relevant user. You can do this by clicking on “Report this post”. We will inform you of the outcome of our review within a reasonable time of receiving your complaint.

Removal of postings is at our discretion, except if the content is illegal. If you're not happy with the moderator's response, you can follow the formal complaints procedure below. We may also require you to follow formal procedure for certain matters (for example, if you claim content is infringing copyright or defamatory, you may have a specific burden of proof).

6. USER DISPUTES

You are responsible for your interactions with other users. We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor disputes between you and other users, including interactions via our email service.

Law
Any legal issues arising will be dealt with under English law. Illegal activity under this law will be a violation of these Terms, but as responsibletravel.com and Iknowagreatplace.com are accessible worldwide you may run into trouble under the laws in other jurisdictions too.
