Don’ts

1. Travellers only, no operators or agents

This is a site for travellers by travellers. Please do not post messages if you are a tour operator or a travel agent. The only holidays that appear on Iknowagreatplace.com are responsible holidays run by tour operators who have met our criteria. All the companies are specialists in their chosen fields, the best at what they do, and run by passionate people who care about your holiday, about the environment and local people. 2. Don’t disrespect others

Please don’t criticise other people’s spelling, grammar or turn or phrase, Iknowagreatplace.com is a global community and English may not be everyone’s first language, so respect language and cultural differences.

Please don’t insult, be rude or harass others. Don’t say anything you would not say face to face. Posted content must not be of a discriminatory or derogatory nature. This includes offensive, humiliating or intimidating comments based on a person's:

  • race, colour, ethnicity, or nationality;
  • sex or gender;
  • physical characteristics, appearance or mannerisms;
  • religion;
  • political opinion;
  • socio-economic status;
  • age;
  • physical, mental or intellectual disability/impairment;
  • sexual orientation.
3. No commercial messages

Don’t post commercial messages or advertisements of any kind including websites, surveys and personal items for sale.

4. No deliberately inflammatory postings

Don’t post insulting or offensive messages or comments that are designed to start an argument. Don’t post replies to these comments as these will be dealt with by the moderators.

5. Don’t be a smug know it all

We are relying on you to inspire and help fellow travellers with your contributions and benefit the community with your extensive knowledge.

5. Be welcoming
